Well, at the risk of sounding snobby, that website seems like an example of talking a lot, but saying nothing. It lays out a lot of claims, but doesn't back it with anything. Also not a good sign that it seems that it hasn't been updated in a year, and the links for the movies don't work.

edit: I especially like their claim under professional applications that it will help Navy SEALs to "Avoid capture, thereby avoiding torture or death."

Yeah, I know it seems sketchy... I was perusing some back issues of Undercurrent, and saw that Ben had picked them as the most unusual new thingie at the last DEMA.

The reason that I am 'semi'-interested is on behalf of a senior diver friend who has really bad ankles.

Below you will find the latest PR release I recently sent to Adams PR / New York. We are swimming our Alpha III prototype in DEMA 05, www.demashow.com , in Las Vegas October 4-7. Join us in Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth #3542.

Things look very good for multi-licensing this prototype, website below has U/W video in Quiktime. Take special note of the DARPA, Department of Defense website which describes 'flapping foil technology'. Nike still has a chance to take this technology exclusive, but they better hurry!

Sent to Adams - PR NY,NY/9/10/2005:

This is a follow up to the, 'Request for New Product/Service Information' provided to DEMA 05 exhibitors. The content below is a resubmission of the '75 words or less' description faxed last week to your office.

'Dive with efficiencies unattainable with conventional fins on the feet. We have forever relied on our feet and ankles to propel ourselves underwater like ducks & frogs. FreedomFins™ harness the power of the lower legs exclusively, and allow us to experience, for the first time dolphin & fish like efficiencies. All the while, your feet and ankles enjoy the ride. Out of the water, FreedomFins™ neatly fold against the side of your leg and allow for easy walkability.'

Please further review our new website under construction, showing the Alpha III prototype, photos & U/W video. Sneak preview at:
http://homepage.mac.com/neilkosterman/FreedomFins/

Our soon to be updated, published website, showing our previous Alpha II prototype, below.
Note: We will display & swim the Alpha III prototype exclusively at DEMA 05. Alpha II is strictly a proof of concept device and early test model of FreedomFins™. Our published website below will clearly illustrate the design evolution of this breakthrough, discovery level fin design, especially when compared to the information in our website under construction above!

www.freedomfins.com (Alpha II, proof of concept device and early test model)

Lastly, an arm of the Department of Defense, 'Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency' (DARPA) has recognized FreedomFins™ like fin technology (not FreedomFins™ specifically) as potentially 85% more efficient than conventional fins on the feet! See this exciting recognition of 'flapping foil technology' at:

FreedomFins™ are Finnovation(tm)!
