Freedive spearfishing AL gulf

Looking for partners in AL gulf coast area to go freedive spearfishing with. Have access to boat just have issues finding someone to go with me freediving. I scuba spearfish but getting into freediving and not many want to do apnea.

Its largely frowned upon up in the part of the state with the dive shops I have experience with.
The majority of the captains I regularly scuba with don't like to take free divers out either.

I know one who will do it..but basically that individual has to charter the whole boat and he gets the captain's undivided attention...and he cussing the whole time.

I'm out on it as well...I do good to hold my breath 45 seconds...when I was in high school and running marathons I could barely hold for 2 min
