Hi all.

So I have been a PADI instructor for 4 years now and last weekend I ran across something that I haven't seen before. One of my students has a free flowing nose. It bubbles when she inhales, exhales, and pauses. It is non stop without a noticeable break in the stream. Initially I just thought she was exhaling into her mask but when we did the no mask breathing it was a steady output even as her chest rose and fell while breathing.

Aside from her mask fogging up all the time it doesn't seem to be causing any distress but it does seem very odd.

I did find one thread about this dating back some time which sounds plausible but I am hoping for additional info/validation.

Thanks in advance

Trevor
Just curious, but how does she drink from a straw or blow up balloons?
