Been looking and looking for a good reg for me and my fiancee...just picked this up from California Dive Center:

Oceanic Alpha 7/SP4
Alpha 7 Octo
Oceanic Pressure gauge (we're going to have wrist computers)

Total for TWO regs assembled, with a bag, shipping, and the Oceanic warranty was $749! No a bad reg set for $375, I think!

Congrats on the new toys. Have fun with them.

Great little regs, My son just started diving this year after his 12th birthday. I wanted to get him something of quality and decided on the Oceanic Alpha 7/SP4. The funny thing about this regulator it out performs most at twice the price. I used it a couple of times and can't believe the performance. He just bought the Zeta at over twice the price and loves its small size, but the performance is on par with the alpha...crazy!!!

Here are a few links to show you how your new toys match up with the most expensive:

Thanks! It was all the good advice on this board that put me onto this setup in the first place!

True. I too have the same setup. Durable and a good value for money reg. Perfromance will drop off slightly at deeper depths (100 -130 feet). I believe the Zeta is paired with the DX4, an environmentally seal first stage and the Zeta shares the same internal mechanizm as the Omega II (not a demand valve on the second). Have fun.
