Kudos to you! Someone will be undoubtedly thrilled to have it back!

You may also want to look at the files on the SD card as many people, myself included, place a text file containing owner information in the root directory.

Ahh.. Another GoPro found laying on the seabed. 10,000 years from now geologists across the globe will be uncovering these things throughout a common layer of sediment 100's of feet deep by then and asking themselves "WTF are these things?".

Check the SD card as anyone with a clue traveling with a camera, video gear, or a GoPro should shoot from the very start their name/address, dive op and hotel/resort they are staying at. Do that and you'll always get it back if an honest individual finds it. Otherwise, you probably just scored a free GoPro!

I observed one last month with no identifying info but had coral beginning to grow off it. The battery still had a good charge.

Did you snatch it up or just check the battery and lay it back down as not to disturb the coral growing on it? ; )

I didnt find it but I believe the diver who did, did do a search but there was nothing identiflying on the card.

Salvage rights if no one claims it and if someone does they should reward you for trying to return it.
