While exploring the middle of Whaler's Cove this weekend, I came across two matching removable weight pockets - one leaning on the side of the other. So you had an interesting dive.
They were pretty clean, with just small dots of growth starting on the plastic connector, if that helps with a time frame.
My second cold water dive was three years ago at Point Lobos in surge-y conditions and I lost a weight belt and a fin. Someone made a similar post and I am still using that weight belt. Hoping to be able to keep the karma moving forward.
