I'm a Fish!
The other day, a local Dive shop owner told me he had a great idea for a fin. He wondered if I would like to make it and I asked him if he had $ 60,000 dollars. He looked shocked. But after developing many Patented fin designs I learn the true cost of development. Now scanning past concepts I thought it might be fun to share. BAF, stood for " Blade Action Fin " and had a enclosed foot pocket that was bulbous allowing the toes to move freely, like the original Force Fin. Each day I will post images of this model which never hit the market for many reasons...

Nice one :D

Patent drawings were always a challenge with really not straight lines to run on. My Father Gordon B. Evans helped.

Some times you need to put things into squares to get a better perspective. BAF Drawing, Gordon B. Evans

Most Force Fins Designs were made In our 28 Anacapa Street, Santa Barbara, California trailer . This area is now called " The Funk Zone ". After drawings were created the next step was to hand shape the BAF. This process took around 6 months .. lot's of Bondo and sand paper and 10 hours each day sanding....

Very interesting. First time after 30 years of diving I read something about the design of fins.
