My Poseidon Xstream Deep has two little 1/8" holes on built in "wings" so to speak on each side of the mouthpiece. The reg also came with a piece of tubing and a pair of sliprings (Keychain rings) to somehow mount the tubing to the regulator. Has anyone else seen or use this setup? It didn't come with instructions on how to fix it up but I sort of see the plastic holes as failure points even though their molded into the reg, not to mention the the rings and all.
Any thoughts?
None on the rings other than that it allows a larger bungee (e.g., 3/16 or 1/4)
than will fit through the molded holes, but the "wings" with holes sounds exactly
like what I was thinking of. Not the first time I've "invented" something that
already exists.:blinking: Thanks for pointing it out.
I googled around for a picture, found several at various merchants, but none show
the holes. The description, which seems very poorly translated from Swedish
(and identical at several vendors, so presumably provided by Poseidon, but not
on their own website) says "The second stage is equipped with neck straps."
but I don't see them, or the wings with holes, in the pictures. It's OK, your
description confirms this is what I had in mind.
Poseidon is a little outside my recreational diver price range, but if the feature
would be anywhere, it would start here. Maybe it will work its way down the
gear food chain over time. I'll stick with zip ties for now. But again, thanks
for making me aware that it does exist. Somebody agrees it's a good idea.
