Hi everyone!

I'm just getting into diving at the ripe old age of 41 and am very anxious to soak up as much knowledge as possible from here. I'm from Denham Springs, LA, which is just East of Baton Rouge, and I am a sergeant with the city police. My wife & I completed our classroom and pool training last weekend w/ Liquid Planet Divers in our hometown and we're scheduled to do our check-out dives the weekend of Sept. 10th at Vortex and Panama City Beach.

I am definitely interested in pursuing public safety diving of some sort, although we're pretty far inland and most of the diving here would be blackwater.

Thanks for having me!

Shannon

Welcome aboard! I just did mine two weeks ago at 43 years of age! New goals always a good thing. Happy for you two! :) I have friends down the bayou, pointe au chene....:)

Welcome to diving. I hope you have a great time on your check out dives. I admire anyone who would consider being a public safety diver. I'm all about clear, warm water with pretty things to see. Good luck!

Welcome
I was certified last September at the age of 49. I just turned 50 and have logged about 20 dives.
Including PCB and Vortex.
Enjoy!

Hey man,
From Watson myself....Got my two oldest kids certified last summer, now 17 and 15. We dive Panama City fairly often, recently made a trip to the Keys this summer. Vortex is nice, but cold so dress up. Have dove offshore in PCB, its pretty cool, got lots of dive spots close to shore... Hit me up for any questions, I try to stay "in the know" when it comes to diving. Check out Underwater Adventures on Gov. St, Mark the owner is a great and knowlegeable guy. One word of advice, try some cruises out of N.O., cheap trips and great diving locations; Cozumel, Roatan, Belize, ect.....

Hello Shannon,
Congrats for the certification.
Welcome on SB.
What a chance, there are some really great musicians in your region.
