300g is probably fine. Its a popular suit for both swimmin and scooterin.
 
I wear a Diving Concepts 200g Thinsulate undergarment in Florida. So far, it's been adequate for the dives I've done, and if you're just going for class, something like that should suffice.
 
i wear the really thin $80 tilos undies.
 
I'm gearing up to take my first cave class in France next week, and while the water temps will be different than yours, the going advice seems to be "wear the next warmer garment for the class since you'll be in the water for many hours each day."
 
We're looking at maybe stopping in florida for some cave diving and further training on our way to Mexico at the end of July.

Whats the water temperature like in the caves and springs??

I use 4th element arctics in our systems which average around 55F.

70-72 F - year round.

Jeez that's toasty compared to here.

I gotta ask, why do I see most people in photo's wearing drysuits???
