Going for a week vacation with the family to Alligator Point, FL. Its about 30 miles east of Apilachicola. Will be there oct 2-9. So far, Port St Joe seems to be best bet. Always wanted to do the Empire Mica. But St Joe is 68 miles west. Will be taking the boat, a 16' cat with a Merc 50 hp. Will put it up against a 30' mono hull any day. But, still like to stay within 12 miles out.
Looking for any info on this area, even artifact diving if I can find a coupe feet vis. in one of the local rivers.
Would like to do a little spearfishing though. I am very comfortable in 0 vis. But that makes the fishing tough. How far out will it be to the blue water? Even 10' vis would be a treat fo me. TIA for any info on this area.
