Oof. Sorry for your troubles. And there I was thinking Bali might be an easy entry point to indonesia

Bali is an easy entry point to Indonesia.

Changi in Singapore is better. One 16 hour flight from San Francisco gets you access to anywhere in Indonesia. As well as being a nice place to rest for a day.

Or 16h40 minutes from Vancouver, for those that whatever reason prefer to avoid a US stopover.

I hope it is a one time eruption that will clear out from the skies in the coming weeks… I have my flights booked to N.Sulawesi early next month …

I can't imagine why anyone would want that. ;p

This volcanoe is in Flores which is about 800km from Bali.
Bali has its fair share of volcanoe eruptions over the year. The most famous volcanoe is Mt Agung and its last erupted between 2017 - 2019 and thousands of flight were affected.

I would be worried if my destination is Labuan Bajo in Flores.

Yeah but from news reports more than 20 flights were cancelled and things were expected to go back to normal only a few hours back from now… I agree Flores is far away and it’s confusing to me how it could impact flights to Denpasar…

WIND.
The slash and burn practice in Indonesia has huge impact on air quality in Malaysia and Singapore. No easy solution.
