What does DIR stand for? I have seen it used several times on here. "Do It Right"?

Yes, Do It Right. Developed by Global Underwater Explorers.

You can get the overview by reading

Doing It Right: The Fundamentals of Better Diving
By Jarrod Jablonski

available here:

Look about 1/2 way down the page. It's worth reading.

Well, the DIR system wasn't developed by GUE... GUE was created as a training agency to train the DIR way. The DIR system was created by the WKPP of www.wkpp.org

When I first read that I thought you said it was created by WKRP and I had a visual of Les Nesman behind his invisable walls crafting DIR. Oh well it was funny to me.

JJ and GI3 were two of the principal figures in the creation of DIR when they were both doing exploration diving for the WKPP.

GUE was created later.
