Here is a link to my first attempt at video. It was taken on a recent live-aboard trip to the Bahamas with Lost Island Voyages ( Scuba Diving Lost Island Voyages ). This is our 4th trip with LIV and we always have a good time so I figured I would give them a plug.

YouTube - bahamas 2010.wmv Be sure to click on the HD version.

It was shot with a Canon HF-S10 in an Ikelite housing using the red filter.

I hope to create a few more clips in the near future from the video I took. This clip was done to try my hand at editing and post for some non-diving friends to see.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks
Ryan

Nice job!
I think you could probably sharpen it up in editing a bit though, some shots the colors are a bit washed out. What editing software are you using? I use Pinnacle Ultimate v.12 and there is a way to white balance and bump up contrast with it that I use when shot looks a bit soft.

Not bad at all for your first attempt man. That turtle was pretty cool. I use the same set up except with a cheap sony camera.

Robin,

Thanks. I am using Pinnacle Ulltimate v.14. Although I haven't really tried using a lot of the functionality of the program yet. I will check out the contrast with the next videos I edit. The visibility wasn't as good as we have had in past trips to the Bahamas. That and my first time with the video camara may contribute to some of the soft or washed out colors.

Easy,

Thank you. That big turtle was one of only 3 turtles we saw during dives that week. I had to put in the whole clip.

Roger,

The music is Moby. The song is "Shot in the Back of the Head" It is a free download from Last.fm.
