Having sky dived, caved and climbed mountains (only small ones) I thought it was about time I dove to the depths unknown. Although I have only completed my Confined water dive, I have booked my open water, and advanced dives for next month. This is an experiance that I wish I had undertaken 20 years ago.

If there is anyone out there from MN who needs a buddy to dive with please give me a shout :)
Thanks

Yes I know about the rivalry between our two states but as your neighbor to the south I welcome you to these chats and this sport. And look forward to chatting with you more. There are alot of people here who know alot about this sport. Grasp their wisdom and guidance and you can't go wrong.

I know of quite a few divers here who enjoy diving in MN and if I hear of any heading in that direction any time soon, I will be certain to notify you ASAP.

I would also like to extend the invitation to you if you happen to be coming down this way. Alot of people have the misconception that Iowa is nothing more than Hog confinements and cornfields. And I enjoy proving them wrong.

I doubt you will be disappointed as a Scuba Diver Welcome to the Family:)

Although I'm not currently living in MN, I will be back there near the end of May for about a week. Hoping to get in some good diving. If you're interested in doing some diving, post a reply and we can get in touch.

First welcome to the neighbourhood!

I'm sure some of the "natives" will soon be sharing their spots to dive. Recently I had asked a friend to give me a list of spots to go to - 'cause I have another friend going to MN for a visit (I just have to track down the e-mail). Once I find the e-mail, I'll post the locations, they might be of use to you.

Welcome to the board!!!

I am originally from the Crookston/Bemidji area. I started diving back in 93' in college. If you ever get a chance, drive up to Bad Medicine Lake around the Park Rapids/Mahnomen area. Visibility is 60+ and you enjoy seeing sunken boats, Turtles, crayfish, pike, Trout. The bottom is rocky/silty and there is a couple Islands and some real good nooks and cranny's to explore!!! Rent a boat, it's good. Lake is deeper than 400ft at it's deepest.
I would also like to keep in touch for the times when I return. Possibly dive together?

Good Luck, Safe Diving, Beware of the winter!
