I've been using the rental jacket inflates in class (OW and AOW) up until now and not had too many issues, but with a trip coming up I decided to buy my own BC. With the advice of this board I went looking for a back inflate (BP/W is not common around here so no one had one I could try). I found a used Tusa Imprex Pro with their air2 for $200, figured it was a good deal.

Went to the pool for a AOW session today. Wow, it's alot better. Took me 2 tries to get my trim right, but i can float neck level straight up just fine. Underwater it natually puts me in a horizontal position, no more forceing myself into it. Only issue I found is I can no longer know how much I am inflated based on my ability to breathe.

Thanks for the recommendation on the rear inflate.

I recently moved from a rental weight integrated jacket to a Sea Elite Tek-X and would never go back. I'll stick with it for a couple more years until I go doubles and then I'll move to a BP/W.

That's exactly how I felt when I first tried a back inflate BC. I have to say I had the same kind of epiphany when first trying a bp/w as well!

As a photographer the back inflate has an additional benefit. When it gets inflated it doesn't get in the way. I love it too. :)
