I just got back from my week-long trip to the Florida Keys. What started out as a windy, rainy, somewhat miserable week turned out to be a beautiful trip. I ended up doing 6 dives. I did my first ever 100+ foot deep dive to the Speagle Grove, then went to the Christ of the Abyss site. The second trip was to Mike's wreck and North Dry Rocks. On Thursday I went to the City of Washington wreck and the train wheels wreck on Elbow Reef. All three trips were with Silent World dive center in Key Largo; the captains were great, our guide for the Speagle dive was awesome, and everything really went well... I'd highly recommend them.

Anyway... I got to play with my brand new canon a570is which everyone recommended and ended up taking a couple hundred picture.

Thought I'd share a few of the better/interesting pictures to see if anyone has any comments or recommendations.

Here's my group following the guide on the Speagle dive. Not the best picture... but it was one of my first.

We got to see the sea turtle that hangs out on the wreck!

Very nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. You will have a lot of fun with your camera.

Thnx for the pix/report

I looked at your Flickr site, and my impression is that you have pretty nice pictures. Some of them I thought were better than the ones you posted here. I especially liked some of the available light ones in shallow water. It might be good if you could label on flickr where you took the photos, but I know this can take time. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the comments and compliments. I added a few more captions/location descriptions to the flickr photos... unfortunately I don't know off the top of my head where many of the closeups were taken. If anyone really wants to know, I can always check the time the photo was taken.

I actually ended up taking a couple hundred pictures. I really appreciate everyone's suggestions before the trip as to what camera to get and what settings to use...thing's worked out perfectly, and I couldn't have had more fun.

I will second this. There were some great photos there. It has been a pleasure viewing them and I look forward to the next picture posts.

You have a good eye. For such an inexpensive little camera it does good doesn't it?
