Hi Everyone,
I am about to start my advance, I have a regulator set, which was chosen my instructor, its the basic mk2 and R295, I must admit, this has been great, and not let me down, my mate bought a dearer combination, and he gets a lot of free flowing...

My Question.

Can I use a different make of model of a second stage to my existing mk2 first stage?

can it only be scuba pro, i what to get a lighter second stage

You can use any second stage that is compatible with your first stage's intermediate pressure, and that's just about every regulator out there except for Aquadyne (6OPSI) and some Poseidon (190PSI).

If you look close, that's what I have shown(& usually use) on my BP/W rig, along with a DR octo--see below.......but-----I'm not understanding your dilemma....

You say you'd like to get a lighter second stage, but don't say why. Some of the issues that might be improved with a lighter second stage could be improved more easily by simple techniques such as a different mouthpiece and/or a different length hose. And Thal is right. If you want to change second stages, there are a multitude of options.

As for your mate's free flow, that can usually be fixed with a small adjustment, or possibly some minor maintenance.

Enjoy your advanced.
