Hey all,

First post to scubaboard and most likely not the last! I am 31, dove a couple of times when i was a kid in a fresh water lake. I am relocating to grand cayman in the next month or so (going for a visit June 1 - 4 for a job interview). I am researching and reading all I can as my first goal is open water cert.

Just surfing the forums for deals on used gear to get me going, hopefully before I leave as I would hate to spend full price when I am there, and I am all about recycling gear.

Having been an avid mtn biker/skier/snowboarder for most of my life, its time to go on an adventure to a place I have always dreamed of living. Life has presented itself this way cool opportunity and I am taking it, no regrets!

Anyways, hello to all, and if you are in Cayman or live there, I would love to hear from you.

I am going on a two tank resort course with cayman diving college June 3rd, if anyone is around.

Thanks!

Seth

Wow, lucky you! We all dream of "relocating to the Cayman Is." What a fantastic turn your life has taken.

Have a great time. I just wanted to say "Hi, Welcome!"

Thanks, things, both good and bad, sort of just fell into place! Ill take it though, and see where the winds take me.

Thanks!

Yes, the good and the bad are inextricably linked. "When one door closes", and all that.

I hope you get the job you want and that you focus on how lucky you are to be living in Paradise...ignore the mosquitos. And the sh-sh-sh-SHARKS....couldn't resist

LOL! yeah, open doors and such right? had more than my share of one shutting and another miraculously opening up. its a hell of an adventure thats for sure. the goal now is to sell the toys i have and jump ship asap!

Hey, go here! Lots of Cayman info. The "Introductions" don't get as much attention as they deserve sometimes - and in the Cayman Forum you can hook up with lots of people! Probably not too many snowboarders - maybe some mountain bikers, though!

Hello! I am new to site also. I am getting certified memorial day weekend. As green as you can get but excited about diving. My dad has been a diver for about 30 years and I just never go into it. Now I am looking forward to going down in the water rather than only snorkeling on top. I don't have an all the time buddy and will try this site to see if there are people in the same situation that want to meet up for a dive. I don't want to be like some people I know and get certified and never go diving. I am doing my check out dive at Pearl Lake in South Beloit, IL. About same distance to Haigh quarry in Kankakee, IL. Hope to go with my dad diving at Bonaire in feb. 2011 and don't want that to be my next dive. Thanks.

welcome
