First dive with Oly C5050

Recently purchased an Olympus C5050 and PT015 housing. Also bought an external strobe, but for the first couple of dives plan on going strobeless to get use to the camera. Any suggestions from current C5050 users on how to set the camera up to achieve optimum results. Would help shorten the learning curve if anybody has any advice on what they found worked......and didn't work with regards to the camera set-up.
