So I had my first class on Saturday night.

Was full of nerves/excitement until we got all the equipment on and then the only thought in my head was "oh dear God, my spine!"! :11:

I hate to sound like the gushing newbie (that I am) but the first breath I took underwater was definitely a life defining moment.

We spent about 2 hours in the pool (approx. forgot my watch!) and completed the first confined part for the open water certificate. It was just amazing from start to finish.

My instructor was great, really supportive and explained everything. I didn't want to leave!

Can't wait to get back in the water!

I remember it well (since it was just a few short months ago). Day 2 was even better (found a bc that fit better). OW was fantastic (after I shed 10 lbs after the first dive) and by the end of the weekend...........woo hoo.......

Now I am working on tuning in the pool during the week and planning my next excursion. Got the weight issue almost fine tuned and can hang in the water effortlessly with only breath to control my buoyancy (most of the time).

Hope I never get over being a bubbling newbie.

Brian
