Hey...

I want to purchase a cooler if at all possible in Bonaire to throw in the back of the truck.....want to take some water along a few times...

Anyone know where to get on in Bonaire?

Do you think it will be stolen if left in the truck??

Just want something cold to drink if were on the southern parts of the island in between dives....

Thanks!

The easiest thing is to take a collapsable cooler with you. You can place it right in the bottom of your dive bag. If not there is a home supply place on very near the Sand Dollar. Take the exit from the circle on the left going toward town from SD and it is a large store on the left about half a mile up the road. Also take some of those pull out caps for drink bottles. When you get there you can get a two liter bottle of drink and pour the drink out. Fill the bottle with water and place it in the sun while diving. Wallah a fresh water solar heated shower for you and your equipment. Also helped out when the radiator on some fishermen's truck overheated once.

The best policy is to leave NOTHING on or in the truck.

Last year in Akumal, we bought a cheap styrofoam cooler. Left it with the maid when we left to come home. If it's stolen you're not out very much.

Hello,
last time, we put some bottled water(with a bit poued out) in the freezer the night before. took a half a dozen frozen bottles of h2o with us in the morning. they would thaw thoughout the morning. we saved the bottles, refilled them with tap h2o and repeat. nobody bothered with them while we were diving all week.

Bonaire Tip #37.

have fun, we'll be there 9-30 / 10-7.
