Finally got around to taking the DM exam. Now it's on to the 1st pool session weds. Thought there was going to be more math on the exam. On paper it seems REALLY physically demanding but when I see some of the recent divers to become DM, guess it's not much concern. :cool2:

Well done and enjoy the practical sessions :)

Congrats also. I had no problems with the written tests. The stamina tests took a while. The demonstration skills took even longer. Wish I had had the recent video available. Do them slowly and correctly, according to your instructor.

I'm not worried about the stamina tests. I'm actually not worried about any portion of it. Well, I do hate the fact I'm going through a shop that doesn't sell bp/w gear. They've said I can wear mine but "prefer" I wear what the students wear.

My "old salt" used crap is OK with the shop, though I know I need some new stuff. You are lucky your shop only says we "prefer". Unlike some places I read about here on SB.

Here's a tip on the gear swap, if you can get away with it- start with your buddy wearing your gear and you wearing theirs. Then you get more comfortable as the exercise moves forward, not less. This was a necessity for me and my partner 11 years ago, as I wear a prescription mask and he doesn't. I do not believe it violates any rules. If it does under current standards, ignore this post (except for the mask thing.)
Also, many DM candidates string out their work for a year. I urge you to "stay after it " and get it done. Then you can wear the col shirts and hats.

Iagree with Dennis. Stick to it. My favorite part was the gear swap. Just go slow and you will be fine.
