so glad i got this one instead of the pioneer. cost a little more but i think its workth it in the long run. their profiles are almost identical. was fortunate enough to test it in the weekend and was very comfortable with it. now all i have to do is cut the extra webbing for perfect fit!

eclipses are v. nice

congratz

Yeah, you'll be happy with it. What size did you go with?

i got the eclipse with 30lb wing. im still a newb so i only do singles for now. never realized adjusting these things could be such a major pain !

I agree...Like most things, it gets easier...though once done, you'll probably never have to do it again unless you help a friend rig up...or change the webbing down the line...

how much allowance do you leave on the webbing? is their a rule or is it a matter of preference?

I was told to leave enough to thread through the buckle and still have 5-6 inches left over.

I have 6 dives on mine and I still haven't cut the extra webbing (procrastination). I thread the extra tight inside the weight system to keep it streamline. I don't like the thought of spending a bunch of $$ on something then taking a knife to it. I know I shouldn't be worried thought because I can replace the entire webbing for only $12 but that's a possible $12 that I could spend on something else.

Spoon, just don't cut it too short the first time. If you find it's too long you can always cut it shorter but it's hard to add a little back.

Leave atleast 6 inches and cut it while wearing the thickest exposure protection you expect to ever wear. For mine the webbing almost touches the plate when I have a 7mm on. I just tuck the excess under a rubber band at the end so it doesn't come out. Really it is all up to your personal preference. Some people dont like it so long that it goes over a D-ring ect.... Just my $.02

Find on of the DIR trained guys there... If you work in the Metro Manila area I'm sure you can find a few.... I think Martin Lorenzo (The local GUE instructor) still maintains a 9-5 somewhere in Makati... But him dinner and sit down with the rig and he'll help you fit it.
