Hello all,
My wife and I are planning a 2 week trip to Wananavu and Taveuni (probably Garden Island Resort) in Feb or March of next year and I read that some resorts don't offer diving on Sundays. That would be the perfect day to take the inter-island air shuttle if so. Does anybody know if either of these resorts take Sundays off diving?
Thanks-
:D

I seem to remember that we dove Sunday when we were there. I had heard the same recently so I asked as we are planning a stay at the Paradise resort this time and they responded that every day is a dive day so I don't think you will have any trouble on Taveuni. I don't have any insight into Wananavu.

Hi
Both resorts, Garden Island and Wananavu, dive 7 days a week. Only a few Fijian operators take a day off. In some places, certain dives may be off limits on a Sunday due to proximity to a Fijian village but that is unlikely to affect your diving much.

My suggestions for internal, Taveuni flights are:
a) make sure they are booked in good time as they can get full - small planes.
b) travel mid week as it is often cheaper :crafty:
c) You can get an overnight ferry from Taveuni to Suva. This is much cheaper than flying and offers some very pretty views. It arrives rather early in Suva - about 6am I think, so it is easy to jump in a taxi, 30min ride to the airport (Nausori), and fly back to Nadi - 30min flight. OK, I know, what's the point of going on a ferry and then flying internally anyway... well firstly you can probably dive on your last day on Taveuni, at least in the morning. You get some great views. Depending on your flight from Nadi back home, you don't even need to fly from Suva to Nadi, as there are several AC coaches that do the trip, admittedly it is about 3 1/2 hours... anyway, just a thought.

You'll love Wannanavu! Had my honeymoon there.
