Ok, so i am looking for a liveaboard trip that is easy to get to from Hawaii (other than Kona Aggressor) and can be done with taking only one week vacation. It looks like both Fiji and Palau could work for me, and I am wondering if anyone has any personal opinions that might tip me either way. I should say that, in addition to the obvious differences about the destinations, I am also a diver with very good air consumption who likes to maximize my UW time, and as such, any operation that has some flexibility with diver profiles gets extra points. I don’t mind dive time limited due to dangerous conditions (i.e. stay together bc of currents or predators), or because a boat needs to get a move on to get to next destination, however, I don’t like coming up at 50 or 60 min with half a tank full of air because the protocol is to limit all dives to 50-60 min.

Any suggestions area appreciated. Also, if there are other suggestions on operations or destinations, they are also appreciated.

Just came back from Palau Aggressor II. Absolutely loved it. Friendly and fun crew, and they were quite attentive. Blue Hole/Channel, Ulong channel and big drop off etc lived up to their reputation.

Most liveaboards I've been on have the 60 mins limit, and personally it doesn't bother me as I wouldn't want to exhaust all the energy on one dive.

I've not been to Fiji yet, so no comment on that.
