Would anyone know what condition FA is in? Have heard conflicting reports whether it is open and if the dive operation/pier is still there. Also wondering if other dive operators would pick us up there or would we have to get to town. Thanks for any information.

Dive operators will pick you up there. FA is a good location for operators to pick you up. I'm not sure of the hotel or pier condition.bmvdc:

The hotel is currently closed, but is expected to reopen at the beginning of February. The pier is also being rebuilt...there were no piers that survived Wilma except the ferry pier (still suffered fairly extensive damage) and the pier at Palancar beach. The pier at Hotel Cozumel has been rebuilt and is in operation, the Aqua Safari pier downtown is almost finished, the downtown Aldora pier is operational but still being repaired, and the Caribe Blu pier is under construction.
Dive House is in operation, but not operating out of the hotel currently. You can contact them by e-mail to make arrangements with them if coming down prior to the hotel reopening.
Once the hotel is open and the pier is rebuilt, any operator you choose can pick you up there.
