No, I am not whining!! Just live in the land of WA.
My husband and I have been certified for 17 years now. We tend to dive a couple of times a year on holidays.
Our three teenagers, 13,15,&16 just got PADI certified over the Christmas Break in Hawaii.(Big Island) Now I think we are in for more diving holidays!! All three kids really enjoyed diving and had a wonderful certification experience. Their instructor was thorough, but made the learning fun and I could tell he loves what he does!
We did some extra dives after the certification was done and we really found that it is a great family activity! Lots of fun to sit and chat with the kids during surface intervals and it was great for them to have the experience to share between them as well!
I joined the ScubaBoard since we are starting to plan trips for the next year or so that include diving and wanted to be able to search the posts!
Other than diving, we all swim, play tennis, ski, snowboard, mtn bike, windsurf, and just generally enjoy the world we live in!
Looking forward to learning lots here, already have had a couple of people respond to my inquiries! Thanks for the time!

Thanks! I think I can say the same about wishing I had been certified back then!!
What is the Cozumel Invasion?

Hi, Kristi! There are a fair number of Washingtonians here.

Have you ever considered doing any local diving? We have some fabulous places in Washington State.

So far, we have not considered the local diving...I suppose the cold water aspects put us off! But recently, I have been seeing some great pictures which pique my interest!!

I'm from British Columbia and have dove Maui briefly. Although I'm very new to diving, I need to say that the things to see here are well worth the cold. So completely different than Maui. Go for it! You'll love it.

Diving cold water really isn't that bad, if you have good exposure protection. (Says the woman who originally told her husband that no way, no HOW was she ever going to set FOOT in Puget Sound. That was about 500 Puget Sound dives ago . . . )

Thanks! I think I can say the same about wishing I had been certified back then!!
