I’m 6’0” tall.I currently have a dive rite bcd with wing. Tanks are steel Faber HP 117. Are there any benefits to changing to LP 95?

Assuming the HP117 is a 12L 300bar and the LP95 is 12.2L 232bar, you'd have to carry slightly more lead with the LP95 but the tank itself would be lighter.

You'd be diving with around 15% less gas.

Cancel that... those are nothing like the Faber tanks we get in Australia.

They're 15L tanks. 237 bar and 182bar.
The FX117 is 1lb more negative than the LP95 and about the same heavier on land.
They hold the same volume of gas when filled to the same pressure, so there is no benefit in single tank applications of the LP95.

Thanks. I realised that after I googled the names.

We get the 15L 232bar tanks here but definitely not the 182bar ones.

Faber is the most widely used tank in Australia and we get a wide range of sizes but they are all either 232bar (with DIN/Yoke valve) or 300bar (300bar DIN valve).

Great… I don’t really like the large diameter of the HP tanks, but not worth spending the extra $$ on new tanks!

LP95's are almost identical in terms of physical specifications, both interior and exterior.
If you want skinny equivalents then the FX100's are about an inch longer but are "normal" diameter tanks and are about 5lbs lighter but are 12.9L instead of 15L so you lose about 15% of your gas volume.

At 6' tall, you wouldn't most likely be better in 130s or 100s depending on your diameter preference.
LP95s/117s are typically difficult to get trim if you are over 5'9".
They are very short and head heavy.

I'm 6'2 and dive hp120 all the time and they are nice

I'm 5'9 I HATE AL 80's because of the length. I love my HP 117's because they are shorter. Yhey are not much taller than my old 72's
