Hi All

I have been saving for a Nikon 12-24mm for a while and I was delighted when I finally made the purcahse. I tried it out last week but i was very dissapointed because all my photos were horribly soft around the edges. I used it with my sea&sea 8" dome port and DX-50 sea&sea housing, a set up which I thought was compatible. :280:. Clearly I have a lot to learn.

After doing some hasty research it seems that I need to add an extension ring to my set up to correct this edge effect. My problem is that I can't find out which darn extension ring I need for my rig.

I will be very grateful is anyone could tell me the exact extension ring I need that will help sort out my problem?

Many thanks

The S&S website says to use the SX ext ring compact dome and no ext ring for the larger NX dome.
They don't indicate which to use wiith the 8" dome.

I have the NX dome and get good results with ext ring 40. Additionally, I use a +2 diopter on it.

With the 8" dome you can likely get pretty good results with a SX ext ring and a +2 diopter, but I reccomend checking with one of the popular shops like Backscatter to confirm before buying.
Backscatter : Underwater Camera, Underwater Video Housing, Underwater Photography, Waterproof Camera

Take care,
John
