I'm planning to spend a few weeks down in the Florida Keys in December for a PADI Divemaster course. I was down in the Keys for three months this past summer and diving in nothing more than a simple lycra skin and a swimsuit and I was pretty comfortable. Having never been down to the Keys in December I was wondering what the best choice of exposure suit would be?
I've been diving in a couple of the caverns in north Florida in the summer and the water was around 65-70f. I was in a 5mm and a bit on the warm side of comfortable once I was in the water. I've also been in the local lake at home where the water was ~70f at 30ft and I was literally sweating in a 5mm wetsuit. I'm a bit on the big side (5'5 and 247lbs) and tend to run warm when most people are cool.
Anyone have any advice about what type of suit and what thickness would be appropriate? Any brand advice would be good as well!
Thanks in advance!! ^_^
