Zeagle, without hesitation.

I have dove both many times and they are equally awesome! The ranger will add a little more bulk on the sides due to the ripcord pouches and pockets being on top of each other. I didn't like that as much. With the Excursion, you only have the weight pockets. There is a roll down pocket, but you don't get the bulk on the sides. Some people use the added bulk of the ranger pockets as a place to rest their elbows. The ranger is 100% a heavier BC. I think it is like 2lbs heavier than the excursion. Ranger has dumpable rear pouches and a one pull weight dump system (shouldn't ever need to dump weights though).

Honestly, you will be happy with either one you go with ;) I have an Excursion as my pool BC (got retired when I got a BP/W) it was my favorite BC I had ever worn. It has held up to hundreds of dives and my extreme abuse ;) My father has a ranger ( he is an Instructor Trainer) and has a few hundred dives on his....LOVES IT! If you go with a LTD, you will need a little more weight to sink due to the extra padding. The ranger will also require more weight in a head to head against the Excursion due to padding and extra material ;)

Hope that helps a little.....and you have two great choices!!

That said...I have an excursion for sale...$200 :D
