Have used twice. Never again!

Had to invert and keep finning down in order to maintain station over subject as buoyancy of bag is too positive. You have to have air in it in order to work the buttons, but it makes your dive an impossible task, from a comfort point of view.

Get a dedicated housing and save yourself a lotta grief.

Those seem like they'd be more for splash environments and not total submersion. I would certainely be nervous about putting my camera in an Ewa marine type ziplock bag thing and then going to depth.

I used an Ewa Marine bag while snorkeling for three years. It did spring a leak, but since I was on the surface it didn't hurt my camera. I never dove with it and wouldn't try.

All I can say is run quickly in the other direction.

I have had one student use this with his dslr. It did not leak. It was impossible to access controls underwater so whatever setting he had is what he used. It was terrbily awkward to carry, hand to and from the boat and to dive with. It was a bit floaty, then the plastic would compress in a weird way and throw the balance off.

He did get some nice shots on the dive...but came up and said "OK, now I see..."

I'd save up for a real housing if money is the issue...

Unfortunately the story from Canon is that they are not going to make an underwater case for this model. Available for all other models but not this one. Time may change but in the mean time I'm looking for alternatives. Also haven't seen Ikelite or any others provide a case for this model.

Thanks for the input, I am leaning away from it. Not difficult to plan a depth as the instructions suggest but like Seadeuce and Alcina suggest it may indeed be a bear any where else along the dive.

Too bad Canon passed on the housing - looks like Ikelite is not jumping on it either. Anyone who makes a housing is going to charge big bucks for it, so another camera for underwater might be in order.

I couldn't find anyone in the world that made a housing for my Panasonic FZ20 which I love, so I just bought a Canon a620 and case to use underwater.
