Hey all you great dive people,
We are going on a super holiday to Sipadan and ending up rafting the Padas River in the southern end of KK National Park. It is said to be a class 3-4 white water river. It is the one where you ride the antique train up the canyon and raft down. Has anyone out there ever done it? Do you get thrown out of the boat? Do we need to worry about little microbes/bacteria in the water? Is it fun? If you have done this, please share your experience. It is a land activity before we fly home so our dive gear has a day or 2 to dry out. We are also doing the Poring Hot Springs for a day. Ever been there?
Thanks a lot
Susie

Hi Susie
Yes, I did it after diving Sipadan in July of 2004, it was fun, the train was a 'real wreck', not so much of an antique as a "POS" if you will!!!! I have done my share of rafting in the foothills of the Sierra (Yuba, American) and some in Honduras and Nepal, the Padas is mostly class 2 and 3, we ended up swimming alot of it. You will have fun, but it's nothing spectacular, but go for it!!!
