Hola,

I am doing most of my diving off the main coast of Honduras. Roatan and Utila have a decompression chamber but there is none in the mainland. My question is: What should a dive shop do or plan for? What can I expect out of a full authorized PADI dive shops?

Just for reference the shop is very organized, good equipent, good instructors and boats but I want to feel comfortable with anything that I do related to my diving.

Saludos,

A competent dive shop should know how to manage the scene of a dive accident and activate the local emergency services response. This should include routine first aid care for dive accidents, specifically including emergency oxygen.

It is not up to the dive center to diagnose the nature of a problem, nor to proscribe treatment. Once the local emergency medical services has responded, they should take over and manage the care of the patient.
