My dive team is trying to sell four XL drysuits but have not had much luck with finding any buyers. We are currently trying to sell them for $400 a piece on Ebay.

Wondering if any teams here have experience selling gear or if they have any tips. The suits are good, we just don't need 4 XL, and would like to get some money so we can buy some smaller sizes. Thanks for any suggestions.

Dive gear over a certain value is usually considered an asset of the County or Town/Municipality your agency falls under - there will be a Disposal of Assets Policy to follow. It usually requires publishing notice to the Public, an auction, vetting of the purchaser for proper licensing/certifications, etc. If the gear was purchased using monies from a Grant, there will be many, many more restrictions that need to be followed.

Combine the above with not wanting the liability of selling used gear, and you can begin to see why most stuff ends up in a trashcan or the trunk of someones car.

Regards,

James
