I'm interested in getting a housing for my sony HC7 camcorder. I'd like to keep it as inexspensive as possible. i met the guys from equinox and the housing seemed sturdy albeit heavy. I was wondering if they work well. How do you set the white balance underwater? If not what should it be set to prior to entering? what do you use for lighting? It'll be used at guadalupe and then next year on a tiger shark expedition.

I use indoor setting for WB, works pretty ok. Is equinox acrylic? Acrylic housings tend to be very heavy in handing them to the boat from the water.

I've got my Equinox HC7 housing last year. Made about 10 dives with it in the crystal clear water of Grand Cayman last summer with visibility you could see Mars. Glad that I had it and was able to record my dives in HD. Here is my video

Can't white balance with the manual control. Other than that, no complaints.
