Equidistant from LA and NY and takes about 8-9 hours to get to?

I'm looking for suggestions on a destination that is roughly equidistant from LA and NY and would take about 8 to 9 hours of flight time? Any ideas?

I'm in LA and my mom and nephew are in NY. Last year we went to Cancun and it was great because it is about a 4.75 hour flight for me and a 4 hour flight for them. This year i was thinking Cozumel but now that i realize the flights into Coz would take about 7 - 9 hours i'm exploring other options.

By the way when i say 8 - 9 hours i mean pretty much door to door; not it takes 8 hours to get to the main city airport then two hours by car to get to the coast and then 2 more hours on a boat to get to the resort.

Where in NY are they? Big difference if they are in/near NYC vs Albany or Buffalo or something.

Assuming they are in NYC area you might consider Bonaire. Easy to get to from NYC on direct flights out of Newark, and from LA you can do a quick connection in Houston right to Bonaire.

Bonaire is easy then - nonstop EWR to Bonaire every Saturday. Pretty much the entire Carribean is easy from JFK or EWR. And LA - Houston - wherever or LA - Miami - wherever is easy too.
