I need more batteries. Currently have AA 2000 mAh and wonder if the 2500 are worth the few extra bucks.
I think that for ease of charging (no mix & match in the charger) I should stick with the 2000's ???

I have had such good luck with bot the Eneloop and the Duracell Precharged in my strobes (and in cameras) that I cannot see using anything else for that type of use.

The new XX with 2.5 A/H capacity only has a 500 cycle life vs 1,500 cycles for the Eneloop standard. I don't think most people will need that extra capacity. As to mixing cells in a charger, I keep all of my batteries in sets. I number them as a set with a permanent marker and use and charge them as a set.

Wondering about Eneloop 2000 mAh vs Eneloop 2500 mAh

If 2000 is good......is 2500 better? Or should I stick with 2000 and not mix them ?

?? Yes, 2.5A/hr is better than 2.0A/hr except the cycle life is reduced by 2/3 from 1,500 cycles to only 500 cycles.

No, you should not mix them.

Do they have the same sustained discharge rate as the 2000 mAh ones? I know the regular NiMH batteries are terrible at high discharge applicatoins.
 
If you Google Eneloop you will find out all you need to know, from what I read on the new 2.5A/hr Eneloop XX is that yes, they have the same low discharge rate.

I am not talking about its is low discharge rate, but its ability to discharge near its full storage capacity in high drain devices.

I read some review of various batteries, from 2000 mAh eneloop to various 2500-2700 mAh regular NiMH batteries, where on low drain devices, the 2700 mAh ones had their advantage, while on high drain devices like torches, the eneloop discharged its rated storage energy while the standard NiMH batteries failed miserably.
