Okay...I don't want this thread to go the same way as the "dolphin Slaugther in Japan" thread. Or the threads they started on the Japanese Whaling fleet...

But lets face facts...we are down to 150 Vaquitas left. We are not going to change the Mexican fisherman's behavior in time to save this animal in the wild. New Zealand is in the same dilema trying to save the Hector's Dolphin/Maui Dolphin. They are seriously considering taking the animal into captivity to save it. We should consider doing it also. Sea World has successfully pioneered artificial insemination with orcas, bottlenose dolphins, pacific white-sided dolphins. They have the science now down to where they can actually determine the sex of the offspring.

This can save the Vaquita...there's no excuse not to try.
