Ok...I'm tired of studying so I thought I would ask you a few questions. Seeing as 2003 is nearing the end...

1. Approx. how many U/W pictures did you take during 2003?
2. Approx. how many of those shots were "Keepers"?
3. Approx. how many pictures did you take topside during 2003?
4. What will be your first U/W photography purchase of 2004?
5. What would be your ideal U/W photo destination for 2004

Here are my answers...
1. O...:( (Just got my camera recently and havn't had a chance to dive with it)
2. see 1. :(
3. approx only 500 (it's been a very!!! busy year)
4. Strobe!
5. Galapagos.....(if not, I`ll settle for the 10 foot ice covered lake)

Cheers.

1. Approx. how many U/W pictures did you take during 2003?

about 4500

2. Approx. how many of those shots were "Keepers"?

I define a keeper as one I put in my album rather than one than perfectly exposed and focused - so 45

3. Approx. how many pictures did you take topside during 2003?

0

4. What will be your first U/W photography purchase of 2004?

Zoom gear for Nikon 18-35

5. What would be your ideal U/W photo destination for 2004

Palau (I want sharks next year)

Gotta do some averaging on these questions:

1. Approx. how many U/W pictures did you take during 2003?
About 12,000 (153 dives).
2. Approx. how many of those shots were "Keepers"?
About 1500 to 1800 (I consider keepers as the ones I burn on CD ROM's).
3. Approx. how many pictures did you take topside during 2003?
About 100.
4. What will be your first U/W photography purchase of 2004?
Probably an Inon D-180 strobe.
5. What would be your ideal U/W photo destination for 2004
I don't have one on the drawing board but probably the Philippines or Bali considering where I live and cost. (I have already done Palau and Fiji).
:)

1. Approx. how many U/W pictures did you take during 2003?
App. 2000 - Not bad considering I only saw clear salt water once this whole year.
2. Approx. how many of those shots were "Keepers"?
I have different levels of 'keepers'. So I'll say acceptables was about 12-1500
3. Approx. how many pictures did you take topside during 2003?
App. 1000, but I kept very few of those. I was learning a new camera.
4. What will be your first U/W photography purchase of 2004?
If I buy anything at all is will probably be filters, although I have been trying to justyfy a new strobe.
5. What would be your ideal U/W photo destination for 2004
Micronesia, but I'll be happy anywhere there is salt water.

Dee once bubbled...

Salt water???? What's that? Oh...you mean the type of water that doesn't require a drysuit and an ice drill.....yes, that would be nice!

1 - My first year of underwater photography... about 800 pics
2 - 150 keepers (posted to my website). Am sure that over time this ratio will get much bigger, am just not as selective as I should be at the moment
3 - Topside, probably 1000
4 - My first purchase will probably be a lens mount and filter, now that there are a couple on the market for the Canon housings
5 - My ideal destination for 2004 has to be the Galapagos too :)

Great questions....although they do make me jealous of those that get wet more than I do :eek:ut:
