I have a Canon G12 and a WP-DC34 u/w enclosure and am quite paranoid about scratching the glass port. Any good ideas for a "lens cap" for the port? Because of the oval shape, I don't think any standard lens caps would work.

With a little care during the dive and during storage in-between dives, you shouldn't have an issue with scratching the lens port.

If you really feel compelled to protect it, why not just cut up some neoprene, position it over the lens port, and figure out a way to attach it to the housing with some bungee cord? Make sure that you can easily remove/replace the DIY protector underwater.

Hope this helps...

Bubbletrouble has it right--don't worry about it. And if you can't do that, then his idea for a jury-rigged cover from bungy and neoprene is also good. I bought a neoprene cover for my dome port from Subal for $95. There's no reason you couldn't put one together for a few bucks though.
