Hi folks !!
I am planning on going to Cocos island in august 2009-and/or Socorro islands in Mexico in december 2009. I was about to book Cocos, but then heard that 2009 might be a severe El Niño year, which could result in all the big pelagics leaving the island.
Anybody have any info on that, should I not book the trip, and maybe wait till 2010 ??

I understood that the el nino was ending this August for the Cocos area, but am certainly no expert. The water was considerably warmer this time than our two previous visits. Actually there were MORE pelagics this time than in November when it was colder
