Anyone know how El Moro (the one out behind the cement plant - and my favorite place for a relaxing evening after diving) fared in the storm?
Thanks,
Rick

El Moro is alive and well! I've been there about 1/2 a dozen times since Wilma (it's 2 blocks from my house :) and I love their soups (and everything actually)!

Thay had about a foot of water inside, but no other damage. I'm sure they'll be glad to see you!

I'm looking forward to having their melt in your mouth Yucatan style chicken again.

Thanks Christi,
In my opinion they serve the best fresh mixed ceviche on the planet.
Rick :)

We just got back from Cozumel, and we visited El Moro a couple of nights ago with several other divers. It's location sort of spooked a couple of my party ( who were new to Cozumel), and I do have to admit that it is back in off the beaten path. The rather convoluted way that our driver took to get in there didn't help, I guess. But it was definately worth the trip, as you regulars all know. One of my party had been knocking around the island for a couple of weeks as a solo diver, and he pronounced the shrimp fajitas as the best he had experienced so far. I personally had the beef saltimbocca, which was excellent, and not something I can usually find. Their menu was extensive, and everyone found something to their taste, even down to the 60 peso chicken dishes ( which were actually quite good, I was told). I will post a trip report soon, but I just had to get my two cents in on this. Woody

The only way to get there is a convoluted path through "the hood"...haha! Glad you liked it and glad you had a good time!

Got an email from Ray, the owners son, the other day and they are doing well now that they are open again. Obviously they would like to have as many patrons as possible to help make up for so much lost business during the early part of high season. Everyone make a special trip over and say hello to Ray. Tell him Mike and Kimberly sent you!!.........have a great time and order the Zacarias Especial for two!!! Out of this world let me tell you.
