Anyone else from WV going on this one?

The Scuba Connection (Hillsborough, NJ) has a few remaining spots available for next spring's trip to Egypt. A great combination of Land Tour, a Nile Cruise, and then a week of liveaboard diving in the Red Sea. The trip sold out instantly after the presentation at the shop back in February, but a second liveaboard boat has been added. That has just about filled up, too. Should be interesting to see a group of two dozen Jersey Wreck Divers invade the Middle East!

Note: there are more than a few non-diving spouses coming on the trip for the first week (land tour and nile cruise) and then heading home when we board the boats. Maybe you can do what I did, and trick your wife/husband into thinking that going on this trip was THEIR idea!

Dives for the week include the three top sites in the area: Big and Little Brothers, Daedalus Reef and Elephantone. The Brother Islands are the pinnacles of two undersea mountains located about 60 miles offshore. The walls are covered in soft corals and forests of gorgonians creating a kaleidoscope of ever-changing color, these Islands offer stunning wall diving. The diverse array of marine life includes large Pelagic, Tuna, Jacks and Snappers. Occasional Hammerheads, Silvertips, Silky, and Oceanic White tip Sharks and Mantas visit the area. Even the rare Thresher Shark could be seen here. On the North and South Plateau of the Small Brother Islands you are almost guaranteed a sighting of the Grey Reef Shark. The wrecks of the Aida ll, an Egyptian supply vessel, and the Numidia, a cargo ship, lie on the walls of the Big Brother, a great wreck diving site, where you can encounter family of Napoleon Wrasse. Daedalus Reef is a large, oval reef and is the furthest offshore in the Red Sea. Its deep walls and drop-offs offer some of the most spectacular diving with mountainous, pristine, hard coral formations. There is good chance of spotting schooling Hammerheads, and Grey Reef Sharks. Elphinstone, an endless fascinating site with shear walls and a full range of soft and hard corals, offers a likely encounter with Oceanic White Tip Sharks
