I am looking to buy a BCD - my first one.

The main usage will be simple warm water dives, nothing deeper than 60ft.

I got a very good offer for the Edge Freedom BCD, with quick release weights.
It sounds really good - it has everything that I need (quick release weights, jacket style, everything looks fine).

I couldn't find very much information about this BC or the brand.
does anyone use this BC? have any experience with it?

THANKS for helping the newbie!!!!

I worked with the company that makes this BCD down at the DEMA show. It's a very good, reasonably priced Jacket style BCD.

It has the bells and whistles that you need and is an excellent value. Many companies are going to this BC for their rental and training programs.

I've thought about adding one of these to my Dive Locker.

Regards,
Bob C.

thanks for the info, Bob.
I have used rental gear so far, almost exclusively the Oceanic Oceanpro BC.

Do these two BCDs compare?

They appear to be similar as entry level BCDs, the Freedom does have acouple of little features the other does not...... example rear trim weight pockets

I have an Edge BCD, I do not know if it is the Freedom version. It is a medium and I will probably sell after this week of diving is over. It is less than a year old and is a pretty good BCD. This is a back inflatable type BC with intergrated weight system. The only reason I will sell it is because I just ordered the Seaquest Balance which has a few more perks that I need for the type of diving I do.

That would be a Stealth (1 or 2) not the Freedom. I am curious what perks the Balance offers the Stealth 2 doesn't.;)

The freedom compared to a Oceanpro is the same style BCD, the counterweight pockets as pointed out, the front straps come lower, making the sternum strap more further down the chest thatn as high as the Oceanpro. The Freedom also comes with a buddy line and Carabiner in the left pocket, useful when boat diving and you dont want to wear the gear to climb in the boat, limited vis diving or God forbid you and your buddy get left behind!

Your right it is the stealth. The balance has gromets for a knife mount and larger pockets, more D rings and comfort.
