We are considering Eden Beach resort and Wannadive for our next trip to Bonaire. Has anyone stayed there/used them? I see one positive mention from last month but would love more info. Thanks!

I have stayed at Eden Beach twice and am going back there in November. Very nice people who care about your needs. It is a smaller resort which is what I prefer. The rooms are nice and the cleaning staff does an excellent job. They now have a dock on the beach(they have a nice beach) that made boat dives easy and convenient. The bar/grill (Bongos) is good for breakfast and lunch but I liked to go into town for dinner. Wannadive has been great to me. Bart and Bob are a blast! The whole crew made me feel at home. I had gear issues when my luggage did not arrive, but they set me up straight away and never charged me rental for the 3 days I used them.

Eden Beach has been very active in upgrading the facilities and grounds. The appearance and services just keep getting better. I'll concede that it is not a five star resort, so if you want ALL the frills, you might be disappointed. If you are layed back, don't like crowded shops and boats, and want everything close and accessible, you will have a great experience there.

Hi Nen,

I have not stayed at Eden Beach but dove on the property last March. It looked nice from the outside and like Jetwrench said, it has a nice little beach area. I had the pleasure of using Wannadive as my dive op in March. Bart and Rob are about as nice of guys as you will ever meet. I think you will be happy there. If you have not already, come join us on the Bonaire Board. Just about anything you want to know about Bonaire can be found there. www.bonairetalk.com

Bart Snelder is the guy who put Buddy Dive on the map before he became part owner of Wannadive. He is one of the most respected dive operators on the island. The reef at Eden Beach suffered quite a bit from the wave events of the late '90s, but there are some nice wrecks there.-Clay

I just got back from Bonaire today!

Don't know about Eden Beach Resort, but Wannadive is the best!
This was my second trip there, and this time I had a very cool time with my DM training, all the staff really makes you feel welcome.
(They've also got the best unlimited air/weight deals on the island)

Bongo's beachbar is a few palmtrees away and is a very cool place for lunch (Oriental beef salade!!), sunset dinner on the beach or the ocassional BBQ.

I've seen Dolphins passing right in front of the Wannadive-beach almost every day I was there!

Have fun!

Very true! Both Bart and Bob came from Buddy Dive to start their own operation because they were no longer enjoying themselves in the day-to-day ops. Thats why Wannadive's motto is "Bring back the fun", and they proove it every day. Bart is also very instrumental in the youth diving program and the preservation of the reef system around Bonaire.

Thanks folks! I think we will end up going with EBR after all. We're still waiting to hear back from them but once that's done all we'll have to do it start counting down the days!
