Can you believe the seller of this item lists it as "almost new"???

Unreal!

The seller is probably following the "system" used for things like books and media materials, where "like new" has nothing to do with age, but overall condition.

If the seller swaps out "almost" with "like", there shouldn't be a problem.

Does silicone really look like that over age?

I have really old, "never-used" silicon mouthpieces that are starting to yellow and go opaque. Not as bad as that, though.

It's "almost new" gear alright, albeit ancient.

But seriously, it does look like it has barely been used. Notice how there are no visible scuffs on the plastic front covers on the second stages, just a few dives will make them look a lot worse. The clear silicone does turn that way over time even if they are unused. And if you store it with rubber it turns that way pretty fast.
