When ScubaBoard launched in July of 2000 the internet was based on dialup and Pentium I, 200 MHz computers. Technology has come a long way since that point and so has the board. For several years we have restricted the use of embedded images to a select forum but that has now changed for the better! Now that the majority of our users are on "higher" resolutions we are allowing embedded images in posts. This means you can link to an image from another server or from your ScubaBoard gallery and have it show up right in your post and not as an attachment!
To make things even easier we have added a new feature to our photo gallery that allows you to easily embed images you uploaded with a few simple clicks! After you have uploaded an image to your photo gallery (www.scubaboard.com/gallery/) you can embed it into any thread by clicking the "Select Images" button located right under the smilies box (if you are posting a reply click the "advanced button" first). A new window will appear with thumbnails of each of your gallery uploads; scroll until you find the image you want to post and click on it, the script will automatically add it to your post.
Every forum should now allow IMG tags and you are welcome to link to photos in your gallery or from an external server, but remember, if the other site goes offline your post may not load properly!
Finally, if you have not used our photo gallery I suggest you give it a try. Every member automatically gets 75mb of file storage to upload gif,jpg and movie files. Post your SCUBA photos for the world to see or as a private gallery to use in just your posts or archive for your friends and remember its free!
