Greetings,

So that's the long and the short of it. I'm looking for a prime destination that's somewhat convenient from Perth and not affected by the rainy season that I'm finding many destinations to be affected by in Asia. I'm a somewhat experienced dive master. I tend to prefer larger creatures but truly appreciate a variety. My budget is flexible but prefer not to spend an arm and a leg. I'm not too concerned with the quality of food or accommodation, although those are bonuses, I really want to focus on excellent diving. I have up to 3 weeks and don't mind jumping around or planting myself in one spot or a liveaboard. I hope that's enough info but I'm sure I'm missing some important details.

Thanks in advance,
BK

Indonesia, Raja Ampat. Greatest biodiversity I have ever seen. You probably can catch a cheap flight to Bali, then local airline would get you there.
On the cheaper side, Philippines.

Indo would be great option. Fly into Bali dive there for a few days then hop to other spots from there. Raja Ampat is awesome for big fish and healthy reefs for sure but domestic flights are not so simple, usually have to overnight in makassar to connect to sorong for RA resorts and liveaboards.

Dec in Philippines can be great, some rain is always expected but around Visayas you can have wonderful diving. Big stuff is mainly around Malapascua - thresher sharks and some mantas. Fly into Cebu and transfer to the island from there. For 3 weeks you may stretch things on the bigger stuff side but if you are content with coral and critters there are loads of options all within easy travel distance of cebu airport - moalboal (west cebu), dauin (negros island), Alona beach and Anda (Bohol Island) Padre Burgos (Southern Leyte)
